Lighthouse of Sulina

farul sulinaInternal reference of Sulina, the lighthouse is located 2.5 km from the current shore of the Black Sea . Geographical coordinates: N 45 ° 09'37 "E 29 ° 40'37".
It was built probably in the early nineteenth century, on the right bank of the Danube and belonged to the General Administration of the Ottoman Empire.
On 1 April 1879, the Lighthouse of Sulina beloged to the European Commission of the Danube, which from that moment returned the task to manage, maintain and repair it.
Between 1995-1997 the building was restored by the Ministry of Culture.
Since 2003 it joined the administration Eco-Museum Research Institute Tulcea, being arranged as a museum.
Access: from Tulcea, with a passenger boat.
Opening hours: May to September from 10 am -6 pm , and October to April from 8 am - 4 pm; Monday closed.
